Careers that give enough time to have video gaming as a hobby?

There are 168 hours in a week. Subtract 56 hours for sleep and 40 hours for a full time job. There’s still 72 hours left over… That’s almost TWICE as much free time as work time in a week. You can spend 40 hours a week gaming and still have 32 hours left for all the chores that need doing.

There are none. I just work a crappy grocery store job, and don’t have enough time to complete games anymore. I work 40 hours a week, and combined with distractions from my normal life and family, I can only play 1 hour here… 2 hours there, if I’m lucky.

I can’t count the number of times I start up a game, walk a few steps as my character, then have to turn it off because I’m being called in to work out of the blue.

I’ve been playing a game that would take around 30-40 hours to complete, and it’s taken me about 3 months to get most of the way through it. That’s enough time to repeatedly forget what you needed to do, where you needed to go, and forget important plot points.

Recently, I put most of my consoles into storage, except for one… just so I wouldn’t have to periodically dust them off. If you want to pull this off I strongly suggest only playing a SINGLE GAME at a time.
