Is it rude to order an appetizer as your main course?

No, it’s never rude to order just an appetizer. We have a favorite Tex-Mex place in town that we’ve gone to for years. My mother always orders the same thing, small Mexican Pizza, serve it with the other meals. She often gets a Margarita, sometimes two, to go with her meal. There is often 3 or more of us dining and the place is VERY popular, so nobody has ever complained about what we or anyone else has ordered.

The main reason for this… money. You order, you are served and you pay for what you get. It wouldn’t make sense for a business to turn you away for buying a product, in this case an appetizer and a couple of margaritas. Then you tip your server… again, money. Everybody is happy.
