    I swear you all know it… But I haven’t seen it for past 15 years.. Maybe it went out of market or the local stores just stopped to purchase it..

    Popping candy was first made Dr.William Mitchell, the renowned food chemist of General food corporation, USA.

    Popping candy was actually an accidental discovery. William Mitchell was in a research to develop instant mixes to create carbonated drinks and he carbonated the sugar contained flavoured mixture. The instant mix was a failure, but he had a new vision for the commercial use of the mixture. He developed it in to a candy and patented the product in 1961.

    Popping candy were commercially prepared and offered to public from 1975 by the General food corporation though it was withdrawn in 1983 due to reduced shelf life and lack of success in market. Since then other manufacturers also bought the rights and continued it’s production later in early 2000s.
