We may never know if it is even an accident or not. But 21 year old Elisa Lam, a student of University of British Columbia in Vancouver, was found from a water tank at Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles.

Guests from the hotel started complaining about the water’s weird taste and color. Her body was later recovered in the tank, bloated and she was completely naked.

Nobody knew how she got in the tank in the first place. Doors and stairs to access the hotel’s roof are locked and requires passcodes and keys. What’s more mysterious is how she even got in the tank herself when it is propped up on concrete blocks and protected by heavy lids.

Before her death, video surveillance on the elevator caught her strange behavior. By leaning at the door as if she is looking for someone, stepping in and out like she is playing hide and seek. She looks scared as if she is hiding from someone. Strange hand movements can also be seen in the video.

Theories suggests that she is mentally ill, she is bipolar, under the influence of drugs or someone is after her. You can look up the videos in youtube and see for yourself. Other people also believe that the footage is tampered.

Even after her death, netizens found her blog being updated. Although there is an option to automatically publish your post on your desired target date, her phone was not found with her or her hotel room.
